Electrocoagulation / Electrolysis - Removal of Unwanted Hair and Skin Lesions

Electrocoagulation (often referred to as electrolysis) is a precise method for permanent removal of unwanted hair and minor skin lesions. The treatment involves applying a fine electrode to the hair follicle or skin lesion, allowing the electrical energy to work locally to destroy the hair or lesion, without deeply inserting a needle into the skin. The procedure may use direct current, radiofrequency, or a combination of both (methods: galvanic, thermolysis, blend).

The effectiveness of the treatment depends on several factors, including:

Hair growth stage - since hairs are in different phases of the growth cycle, not all respond immediately;

Hair type and density - thicker or stronger hairs may require more than one session;

Hormonal and genetic factors - for example, androgen levels or hormonal imbalances can affect hair regrowth;

Individual skin response and adherence to post-treatment recommendations - proper care and the timing between sessions are important for optimal results.

In our clinic, we use the Lapio electrocoagulator, which allows precise and safe treatment on various skin areas. All instruments used during the procedures are disinfected and sterilized in a Class B autoclave, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

After the procedure, mild redness or slight irritation at the treatment site may occur - this is normal and usually resolves within a few hours to one day.
Post-treatment recommendations include avoiding intense sweating, sun exposure, and using gentle skincare products in the treated area.
